How do I get my refund check?

You have two ways to check:

  1. Online using the IRS Refund Status Page.
  2. Calling the IRS Refund Hotline at 800-829-1954 or the IRS TelePrompt System at 800-829-4477

You will need:

  1. Your Social Security Number or Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)
  2. Your filing status: Single, Married Filing Joint, Married Filing Separate, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er)
  3. Refund ammount in Dollars (no cents) on your tax return.

How much does it cost to have my taxes prepared?

What is the quickest way to get my refund?

E-File and choose one of the free IRS Direct deposit options. Direct Deposits will usually appear in your account in approximately 5 to 15 days. You can also have the IRS mail you a check. This takes approximately 21 to 28 days.

Can I get a copy of a previously filed return?

If you filed your tax return through TrusTaxx or Fast Cash Refund Express in the past, you can get a copy of your records for a small fee. Photocopies can also be obtained from the IRS.

What information should I bring to file my taxes?

Legal Names, Birthdates, Social Security (Itin/Atin) For each family member. W2's & 1099's, Reciepts for deductions such as donations, medical expenses, student loans, college tuition.

Can I get my W-2 Faster? What if I havent received it yet?

Your employer should mail your W-2 by January 31. However, you may be able to download a copy if your employer uses ADP, TALX or CIC Plus for thier W-2's. Ask one of our employees.

What is the Earned Income Credit (EIC)?

EIC or Earned Income Tax Credit is a tax credit to help you keep more of what you earned.

To qualify, you must meet certain requirements. Preparing a return is required to determine if you qualify.

Is there an age limit on children I can claim as dependents?

There is no age limit as long as the child meets other requirements showing they are a dependent.

If I claim my daughter as a dependent, can she claim herself when she files her return?

If you claim your daughter as a dependent on your income tax return, she cannot claim herself on her income tax return.

Anyone filing a tax return, cannot claim a personal exemption, if they can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.

What types of educational expenses are deductible?

Tuition, books, supplies, laboratory fees, correspondence courses, formal training or research done as part of an educational program, transportation and travel expenses to attend qualified educational activities may also be deductible.

What is a Lifetime Learning Credit?

A nonrefundable tax credit with a dollar limit per family that is available for tuition and related expenses of higher education (graduate or undergraduate).
The credit is calculated by taking a percentage of the qualified educational expenses paid.
